Level 1Static hold
Child's pose
A kneeling forward fold that relaxes the lower back and stretches the lats and shoulders after training.
How to do it
- 01Kneel on the floor with your big toes touching and knees hip-width apart or wider.
- 02Sit your hips back toward your heels and fold forward, reaching your arms long on the floor.
- 03Rest your forehead on the floor, relax your shoulders and let your back lengthen.
- 04Breathe slowly and deeply, sinking a little further with each exhale.
Common mistakes
- Hips staying high off the heels — widen your knees so your hips can sink.
- Tense, shrugged shoulders — let them relax and rest your arms on the floor.
