Stage 1Timed
Wrist circles
Circle your wrists to warm up the joints before hand-supported work like push-ups, planks and handstands.
How to do it
- 01Stand or sit tall and interlace your fingers in front of your chest, elbows relaxed.
- 02Roll your wrists in slow circles, gradually making them bigger within a comfortable range.
- 03Halfway through, reverse the direction.
- 04Keep your shoulders relaxed and breathe easily; you can finish with a few gentle bends of the wrists forward and back.
Common mistakes
- Spinning fast and jerky — keep the circles slow, smooth and continuous.
- Tensing the shoulders and arms — relax them and move only at the wrists.
- Pushing through pain — shrink the circles to a pain-free range.
