Diamond push-up
A close-hand push-up with your hands forming a diamond under your chest, putting extra emphasis on the triceps.
How to do it
- 01Start in a high plank and bring your hands together under your chest so your thumbs and index fingers form a diamond.
- 02Brace your abs and glutes to keep a straight line from head to heels; set your feet a little wider for balance if needed.
- 03Lower under control until your chest nearly touches your hands, elbows tracking back close to your ribs.
- 04Press up through your triceps to straight arms.
Common mistakes
- Elbows flaring out — keep them close to your sides, pointing back.
- Hands too far forward near the face — place them under your chest at sternum level.
- Hips sagging or piking — brace your abs and glutes to stay straight.
