Pseudo planche push-up
A push-up with your hands by your waist and shoulders leaning forward, heavily loading the front delts, chest and wrists.
How to do it
- 01Start in a high plank with your hands beside your waist, fingers turned out or back.
- 02Lean forward until your shoulders are past your wrists, push the floor away so your upper back rounds slightly, and brace your abs and glutes.
- 03Keeping that lean, bend your elbows close to your sides and lower your chest toward the floor.
- 04Press back up to straight arms without losing the forward lean.
Common mistakes
- Losing the lean as you press up — keep your shoulders ahead of your wrists the whole set.
- Sagging hips and an arched lower back — brace your abs and glutes and tuck your pelvis slightly.
- Skipping wrist prep — warm up your wrists well and increase the lean gradually.
